When I observed Jupiter that night I thought the dark spots were shadows from one of the moons. I checked to
see if any shadows were supposed to be visible when I was observing, but no shadows were on Jupiter. After I
processed these images, it seems that rather than sahdows these were dark spots or clouds on the surface.
These pictures also prove to me that I get more detail from images than I can see with my eye. In these images I can see a yellow zone in the equitorial region and some white spots in the belts that I did not see with my eyes, even with filters.
Image of Venus taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995 though a 18mm eyepiece using a Celestron C8 Ultima PEC. The exposure time was 1/60th of a second. I also used a color filter to reduce chromatic abberation, however by doing that I had to increase the exposure time, which decreased the image quality.
