Digital Camera shots of Jupiter.

Taken in Oyster Bay, NY. I used my Nikon Coolpix 995, the 18mm Scoptronix eyepiece, a 2x barlow, and my Celestron Ultima 8 PEC. It was a night of very good seeing, although the transparency wasn't as great. This is a combination of about 20 images stacked with Registax. After that I used Photoshop for unsharp mask, Gaussian blurring, and to modify the brightness and contrast.

You can easily see the Great Red Spot in the upper left part of Jupiter, and you can alse see the difference in colors of the equitorial bands. Despite that and the very good seeing for the night, I am not impressed with the image, possibly due to either the barlow or my inexperience with using Registax 3 for the first time.
