Observing Log for Mike Durkin
10/11/2009 about 8:00-10:00PM
Locust Valley, NY
Transparency: 7/10, Seeing 4/5
Temperature: about 50 degrees
Equipment: Stellarvue 70mm refractor, 10x50 binoculars
I observed a couple of variable stars. I also observerd M31 briefly while starhopping, it seemed a bit dimmer than I was expecting.
I was trying to find AF Cyg, which should have been much easier than it was. I probably had it in the field of view
of the binoculars, but I wasn't really familiar wth the scale of the star chart.
I also seem to have misplaced my regular Nikon binoculars, so I was using the cheap Celestrons. Hopefully, I will
find them since the Nikons feel like they are much better built.
It started clouding over at about 10 PM
