Observing Log for Mike Durkin

10/25/2015 about 8:00PM-10:00PM
Locust Valley, NY
Transparency: 7/10, Seeing 3/5
Temperature: 45-55 degrees
Equipment: Canon Rebel T3i modified DSLR

DSLR photometry of P Cyg and SZ Cyg.
SZ Cyg is part of an additional AAVSO alert, however it I would say that is was near the limit of what I could do with the 75-300mm zoom lens and a star at about magnitude 9-10.

10/18/2015 about 10:30PM-11:00PM
Locust Valley, NY
Transparency: 7/10, Seeing 3/5
Temperature: about 35-40 degrees
Equipment: 10x50 binoculars

Quick variable star measurements of β Peg, χ Cyg and U Del.
My visual measurement for β Peg looks to be significantly dimmer than the other measurements, so I didn't submit that measurement.

10/17/2015 about 9:00PM-10:30PM
Locust Valley, NY
Transparency: 9/10, Seeing 4/5
Temperature: about 35-45 degrees
Equipment: Canon T3i DSLR

DSLR photometry of P Cyg, γ Cas, κ Cas and ρ Cas.
Too tired to do more.

10/11/2015 about 7:30PM-10:30PM
Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, Jones Beach, NY
Transparency: 9/10, Seeing 4/5
Temperature: about 45-60 degrees
Equipment: Stellarvue 70mm refractor and Canon T3i DSLR

AOS member night at the Nature Center
I wanted to do a few visual measurements of variable stars, but only got to do T And.
After that I did some DSLR measurements of P Cyg and CH Cyg.
During the evening I also took a quick look at M31 and the Double Cluster in Perseus.

10/10/2015 about 8:00PM-11:00PM
Locust Valley, NY
Transparency: 7/10, Seeing 3/5
Temperature: about 40-55 degrees
Equipment: Canon T3i DSLR

DSLR photometry of P Cyg and X Cyg. X Cyg is part of an AAVSO alert. I had to zoom in more than usual because X Cyg has a slightly dimmer star that is a bit close to it.
I was also going to do CH Cyg before the night was over, but there were some clouds and some noises from the surrounding area.
