Observing Log for Mike Durkin

1/30/2011 about 6:30PM-10:00PM
Glen Cove, NY
Transparency: 8/10, Seeing 4/5
Temperature: about 30-40 degrees
Equipment: Stellarvue 70mm, 8 inch SCT

Went to Dan H's house and Gerry A. also showed up. Dan wanted to test out a new standalone autoguider with his set up. It took us a while to try to get the hang of it, but by the end of the night, Dan was able to guide, although it looks like there has to be some more fine tuning.
Also during this time I set up my 70mm short tube refractor. I looked at M42 and M35. I found M35 to be a little hard to see and disappointing, probably due to the significant light polution.
